After an illness, Antoine retired in 1924 and the family came to Netherlands.

Antoine was born in the Dutch East Indies. It is not clear when he went to The Netherlands, but he went to study in Leiden, just like all four of his brothers. He married the daughter of his landlady: Maria Agatha Nijkamp. After his studies, Antoine went with Maria to the Dutch East Indies. (Source: work by Mette.)

  • February 25, 1908: appointed Officer of Health, 2nd Class at the personnel of the Medical Service of the Army of the Dutch East Indies Royal Decree No. 35 of February 25, 1908 and “a la suite” by the Colonial Reserve.
  • Departed for the East Indies with the steamship “Sindoro” on April 25, 1908, Embarked in Rotterdam. Arrived in the Indies on 28 May 1908.

  • Posted to the Regional and Local Medical Service from Sumatra’s West Coast Hospital at Padang. Order of the Chef on the Medical Service, 1908.
  • Transferred to the hospital at Fort de Kock, March 26, 1910.
  • Transferred to Bangkinang Hospital, April 27, 1914.
  • Transferred at the Regional and Local Medical Service in the 2nd Military Department on Java, hospital in Magelang, April 25 1914.
  • Appointed Health Officer 1st Class by Government decision, February 28, 1916.

  • With withdrawal of his placement in Surabaya placed at den Regional and Local Medical Service on Celebes and Manado at Makassar; Order of the Army Commander VI, May 21, 1922.
