Eduard trained as a textile technician and was an inspector at the Central Warehouses of Military clothing and equipment in Amsterdam. In 1940 he was “inspector, acting head of this service” (department “Intendance” of the Ministry of Defense). The head had the rank of major. After his retirement he remained a textile adviser in Amsterdam.

For many years (1948-1961) he was chairman of the “Society for actual animal protection,” based in Amsterdam. Knight in the Order of Oranje-Nassau. No children.
