This is me, Eric Grivel, the owner and maintainer of this site
I grew up in The Hague, and studied mathematics and computer science at the Technical University in Delft. After graduation I started working for Exact in Delft and later for AND in Rotterdam.
While working for AND I had the opportunity to go to America for a two-year period. We took this step in 1995, first to New Jersey and in 1997 to Maryland. We liked it so much that we decided to stay.
I have been working for the American federal government since 2006, for the Social Security Administration, which is responsible for the American retirement and disability benefits programs.

Nicoline and I celebrate two anniversaries each year. The first one for the day we decided to have a life together and have children (in 1990) and the second one for the day we got legally married because that was necessary for the United States visa (1995).
